Model answer

(a) The Ziphites told Saul David was hiding on the hill of Hachilah; Saul came with 3,000 men (1 Samuel 26:1-2).
David sent spies and saw where Saul slept, with Abner and the army around him (1 Samuel 26:4-5).
David and Abishai went into the camp at night; Saul lay asleep with his spear stuck in the ground (1 Samuel 26:6-7).
Abishai asked to pin him to the earth with one stroke (1 Samuel 26:8).
David refused: no one can put forth his hand against the Lord's anointed and be guiltless; the Lord would deal with Saul (1 Samuel 26:9-11).
They took the spear and water jar and left, for a deep sleep from the Lord was on them (1 Samuel 26:12).
From a distance David rebuked Abner and showed the spear; Saul confessed his wrong and blessed David (1 Samuel 26:13-25).
(b) Any four: avoids violence and regret; promotes peace; earns respect; pleases God; helps wise decision-making; avoids trouble with the law; good health; builds good relationships.

Explanation

Narrate 1 Samuel 26, then four benefits.
