How did James prove that 'faith apart from works, is dead?'

Model answer

Faith without works cannot save: what good is it if a man says he has faith but has no works? (James 2:14).
If a brother or sister is ill-clad and hungry and you say "Go in peace, be warmed and filled" without giving them what they need, it is useless (James 2:15-16).
So faith by itself, without works, is dead (James 2:17).
"Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith" (James 2:18).
Even demons believe that God is one, and shudder (James 2:19).
Abraham was justified by works when he offered Isaac; his faith was active with his works and completed by them (James 2:21-23).
Rahab the harlot was justified by works when she received the spies and sent them out another way (James 2:25).
As the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead (James 2:26).

Explanation

Use James 2:14-26 with the examples.
