(a) Any four: shows the structure of the organisation; shows lines of authority and responsibility (chain of command); shows the relationship between departments and positions; shows who reports to whom; helps new staff understand the organisation; shows span of control and helps in planning, staffing and spotting duplication or gaps; aids communication.
(b) Any three, explained: fear of losing power or control; lack of confidence in subordinates' ability; fear that subordinates will outshine them; belief that 'I can do it better myself'; lack of trained subordinates; fear of being blamed for subordinates' mistakes; poor communication or unclear objectives.
(c) Any three: reduces the manager's workload and allows him to concentrate on important matters; speeds up decision making; trains and develops subordinates for higher posts; motivates subordinates and raises morale; makes use of specialists' skills; ensures continuity when the manager is absent.
