Model answer

(a) Two disciples were going to Emmaus, talking about the events in Jerusalem (Luke 24:13-14).
Jesus joined them but they did not recognise Him (Luke 24:15-16).
Cleopas told Him of Jesus' death and the empty tomb (Luke 24:18-24).
Jesus said, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe", and explained the scriptures about Himself (Luke 24:25-27).
They urged Him to stay; at table He broke bread and they recognised Him; He vanished (Luke 24:28-31).
Their hearts had burned within them (Luke 24:32).
They returned to Jerusalem and told the eleven (Luke 24:33-35).
(b) Any two: assurance of eternal life and their own resurrection; forgiveness and justification (Romans 4:25); victory over death; hope and comfort; proof that Jesus is the Son of God.

Explanation

Narrate Luke 24:13-35, then two benefits.
