(a) Solomon loved many foreign women — Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, Hittite — though God had forbidden such marriages (1 Kings 11:1-2).
He had 700 wives and 300 concubines, and they turned away his heart (1 Kings 11:3).
In old age he went after Ashtoreth and Milcom (1 Kings 11:4-5).
He built high places for Chemosh and Molech and for all his wives' gods (1 Kings 11:7-8).
The Lord was angry, for He had appeared to him twice and commanded him not to follow other gods (1 Kings 11:9-10).
God said He would tear the kingdom from him and give it to his servant, but not in his days, for David's sake (1 Kings 11:11-12).
He would leave one tribe to his son for David's sake and for Jerusalem (1 Kings 11:13).
(b) Any three: poverty and hardship; division and conflict; loss of trust and rebellion; corruption spreading; moral decay; economic collapse; insecurity.
Narrate 1 Kings 11:1-13, then three ways.
