Model answer

(a) To one who said he would follow anywhere: "Foxes have holes… but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head" — be ready for hardship (Luke 9:57-58).
To one who wanted first to bury his father: "Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but go and proclaim the kingdom of God" — put the kingdom first (Luke 9:59-60).
To one who wanted to say farewell at home: "No one who puts his hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God" — total commitment (Luke 9:61-62).
Deny oneself and take up one's cross daily (Luke 9:23).
Love Jesus more than family and life; bear one's cross; count the cost; renounce all (Luke 14:26-33).
(b) Any three: self-denial; total commitment; obedience; humility; love for others; readiness to suffer; faithfulness; prompt response.

Explanation

List the demands from Luke 9 and 14, then three attitudes.
