Model answer

(a) After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John up a high mountain apart (Matthew 17:1).
He was transfigured; His face shone like the sun and His garments became white as light (Matthew 17:2).
Moses and Elijah appeared talking with Him about His departure at Jerusalem (Matthew 17:3; Luke 9:31).
Peter offered to make three booths (Matthew 17:4).
A bright cloud overshadowed them and a voice said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him" (Matthew 17:5).
The disciples fell on their faces in awe; Jesus touched them, "Rise, and have no fear"; they saw only Jesus (Matthew 17:6-8).
Coming down, He told them to tell no one until the Son of man was raised (Matthew 17:9).
(b) Any three: God confirmed Jesus as His Son; Jesus fulfils the Law (Moses) and the Prophets (Elijah); it revealed His divine glory; it prepared the disciples for His suffering and death; Christians must listen to Jesus; it was a foretaste of His resurrection glory.

Explanation

Narrate Matthew 17:1-9, then three points.
