Show the model answer
(a) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth; it was formless and dark, and the Spirit of God moved over the waters (Genesis 1:1-2).
Day 1: light, separated from darkness (Genesis 1:3-5).
Day 2: the firmament separating the waters (Genesis 1:6-8).
Day 3: dry land, seas and vegetation (Genesis 1:9-13).
Day 4: sun, moon and stars (Genesis 1:14-19).
Day 5: sea creatures and birds (Genesis 1:20-23).
Day 6: land animals; then man and woman in God's image, blessed and given dominion (Genesis 1:24-31).
Day 7: God rested and blessed the day (Genesis 2:1-3).
(b) Any three: man alone was made in God's image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27); he was made last, after everything was prepared for him; he was given dominion over all creatures (1:28); God blessed him to multiply and fill the earth; he received the breath of life directly from God (2:7); he named the animals (2:19-20); he has reason and moral choice and can relate to God.
Outline Genesis 1:1–2:3, then three reasons.
