Model answer

(a) Ahab son of Omri did more evil than all the kings before him (1 Kings 16:30).
He walked in the sins of Jeroboam (1 Kings 16:31).
He married Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians (1 Kings 16:31).
He served and worshipped Baal (1 Kings 16:31).
He built a house and altar for Baal in Samaria and made an Asherah (1 Kings 16:32-33).
He provoked the Lord more than all the kings before him (1 Kings 16:33).
Jezebel was killing the prophets of the Lord (1 Kings 18:4).
Elijah the Tishbite then told Ahab, "As the Lord the God of Israel lives… there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word", showing the Lord, not Baal, controls rain (1 Kings 17:1).
(b) Any two: God's servants must speak out boldly against evil; God punishes idolatry; God, not idols, controls nature; faith and courage in God; a prophet should stand for God even alone.

Explanation

Trace Ahab's sins, then Elijah's announcement and two lessons.
