Model answer

Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John (Matthew 3:13).
John tried to prevent Him: "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" (Matthew 3:14).
Jesus answered, "Let it be so now; for thus it is fitting for us to fulfil all righteousness"; John consented (Matthew 3:15).
When Jesus came up from the water, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him (Matthew 3:16).
A voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17).
Purpose: to fulfil all righteousness (obedience to God's will); to identify with sinners He came to save; to be anointed with the Holy Spirit for His ministry; for God to declare Him publicly as His Son; to mark the start of His public ministry; to approve John's ministry; to set an example for believers.

Explanation

Narrate Matthew 3:13-17 then give the purposes.
