(c) Build roads and railways linking member states (e.g. Trans-West African Highway); remove tariffs and trade barriers (ECOWAS trade liberalisation); introduce a common or convertible currency; diversify and industrialise to produce different goods; improve the quality of local goods; political stability and good governance; encourage cross-border investment; ease border formalities.
