(a) Rural-rural, rural-urban, urban-urban, urban-rural; seasonal migration; transhumance.
(b) e.g. Rural-urban: search for jobs and higher wages; better schools and hospitals; social amenities (electricity, water, entertainment); poverty and lack of land in villages; escape from communal clashes or disasters (floods, drought); to join relatives; trade.
(c)(i) Source: loss of young, able-bodied labour; fall in farm output; fewer people and slower development; mainly old people and children left; less pressure on land.
(ii) Destination: overcrowding and slums; pressure on housing, water, schools and transport; unemployment and crime; more labour for industries; larger market; high cost of living.
