(a) Community service is voluntary, unpaid work done by individuals or groups for the benefit of their community, e.g. cleaning the environment, building or repairing roads, helping the needy.
(b) Any six: speeds up community development; promotes unity and co-operation; solves local problems quickly; saves government resources; builds skills and leadership; promotes patriotism and sense of belonging; improves environment and health; reduces idleness and crime among youths; draws government attention to needs.
