(a) Civil society is the body of non-governmental, non-profit, voluntary organisations through which citizens act together to pursue common interests and influence government, e.g. NBA, NUT, CAN, human rights groups.

Corruption of leaders.
Ethnic and religious divisions.
Illiteracy and apathy of members.
