Model answer

(a) Ask God for wisdom; He gives generously (James 1:5).
Ask in faith without doubting (James 1:6-8).
Ask with right motives, not to spend on passions (James 4:3).
Draw near to God, cleanse your hands, purify your hearts and humble yourselves (James 4:8-10).
The suffering should pray; the cheerful sing praise (James 5:13).
The sick call the elders to pray and anoint with oil (James 5:14-15).
Confess sins to one another and pray for one another (James 5:16).
The prayer of a righteous man is powerful, as Elijah's (James 5:16-18).
(b) Any four: doubt; selfish motives; unconfessed sin; unforgiveness; pride; disobedience; quarrels; bad relationship with spouse (1 Peter 3:7).
