Model answer

(a) When Moses grew up he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand (Exodus 2:11-12).
Next day he tried to stop two Hebrews fighting; one asked, "Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?" (Exodus 2:13-14).
Moses was afraid; Pharaoh sought to kill him, so he fled to Midian and sat by a well (Exodus 2:15).
The seven daughters of the priest of Midian came to water their father's flock (Exodus 2:16).
Shepherds drove them away, but Moses helped them and watered their flock (Exodus 2:17).
Their father Reuel (Jethro) asked why they returned early; they said an Egyptian helped them (Exodus 2:18-19).
He invited Moses to eat (Exodus 2:20).
Moses agreed to dwell with him, and he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah, who bore Gershom (Exodus 2:21-22).
(b) Any two: persecution or threat to life; war and insecurity; political oppression; natural disasters; famine and poverty; human-rights abuses.

Explanation

Narrate Exodus 2:11-22, then two reasons.
