Model answer

(a) That same day two disciples were going to Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, talking about all that had happened (Luke 24:13-14).
Jesus drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were kept from recognising Him (Luke 24:15-16).
He asked what they were discussing; Cleopas asked if He was the only visitor who did not know (Luke 24:17-18).
They told of Jesus' crucifixion, their dashed hopes, the women's report of the empty tomb and the angels (Luke 24:19-24).
Jesus said, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe" and explained from Moses and the prophets the things about Himself (Luke 24:25-27).
They urged Him to stay; at table He took bread, blessed, broke and gave it, and their eyes were opened; He vanished (Luke 24:28-31).
They said their hearts burned as He opened the scriptures (Luke 24:32).
They returned to Jerusalem and told the eleven, who said, "The Lord has risen indeed" (Luke 24:33-35).
(b) Any two: Jesus is with us even when we do not recognise Him; the scriptures point to Christ; hospitality brings blessing; we should share the good news; Jesus reveals Himself in the breaking of bread (fellowship).

Explanation

Narrate Luke 24:13-35, then two lessons.
