(a) Rejoice though suffering trials, which refine faith (1 Peter 1:6-7).
Endure unjust suffering patiently; this is approved by God (1 Peter 2:19-20).
Follow Christ, who did not revile or threaten but trusted God (1 Peter 2:21-23).
Do not return evil for evil, but bless (1 Peter 3:9).
Do not fear; reverence Christ and be ready to give a defence of your hope (1 Peter 3:14-15).
Do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal; rejoice in sharing Christ's sufferings (1 Peter 4:12-13).
Do not be ashamed to suffer as a Christian, but glorify God (1 Peter 4:16).
Entrust your souls to a faithful Creator and do right (1 Peter 4:19).
Be sober, watchful and resist the devil, firm in faith (1 Peter 5:8-9).
(b) Any three: physical attacks and killings; denial of jobs or promotion; mockery and insults; rejection by family; destruction of churches; restrictions by government; imprisonment.
