Model answer

(a)(i) Earthly possessions: do not lay up treasures on earth where moth and rust consume and thieves steal; lay up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:19-20).
Where your treasure is, there your heart will be (Matthew 6:21).
A sound eye fills the body with light (Matthew 6:22-23).
No one can serve two masters; you cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).
(ii) Anxiety: do not be anxious about food, drink or clothing (Matthew 6:25).
The Father feeds the birds and clothes the lilies more gloriously than Solomon; you are of more value (Matthew 6:26-30).
Worry cannot add to one's life (Matthew 6:27).
Seek first His kingdom and righteousness and all these will be added (Matthew 6:33).
Do not be anxious about tomorrow (Matthew 6:34).
(b) Any five: corruption and embezzlement of public funds; poverty and widening gap between rich and poor; crime and social unrest; neglect of infrastructure, schools and hospitals; debt and economic collapse; materialism and moral decay; bribery and injustice.
