(b) Give two reasons why the Resurrection of Jesus is of great significance to Christians

Show the model answer
Model answer

(a) Christ died for our sins, was buried and was raised on the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
He appeared to Cephas, the twelve, more than 500 brethren, James, all the apostles and Paul (1 Corinthians 15:5-8).
If there is no resurrection, Christ has not been raised, preaching and faith are in vain and believers are still in their sins (1 Corinthians 15:12-17).
Christ is the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep; as in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive (1 Corinthians 15:20-22).
The dead will be raised with a new, spiritual body, like a seed that dies and grows into a plant (1 Corinthians 15:35-44).
At the last trumpet the dead will be raised imperishable and the living changed (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
Death will be swallowed up in victory through Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:54-57).
(b) Any two: it proves Jesus is the Son of God; it assures believers of their own resurrection and eternal life; it shows God accepted Christ's sacrifice for our sins; it gives hope and comfort in the face of death; it makes Christian labour worthwhile (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Explanation

Follow 1 Corinthians 15, then two points of significance.
