Model answer

(a) Elijah announced a drought to Ahab (1 Kings 17:1).
God told him to hide by the brook Cherith, where ravens brought him bread and meat and he drank from the brook (1 Kings 17:2-6).
When the brook dried up, God sent him to a widow at Zarephath whose jar of meal and cruse of oil did not fail (1 Kings 17:8-16).
God answered Elijah's prayer and restored the widow's dead son to life (1 Kings 17:17-24).
On Mount Carmel God answered Elijah with fire that consumed the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the water (1 Kings 18:36-39).
God sent heavy rain at his prayer (1 Kings 18:41-45).
When Jezebel threatened his life and he fled to the wilderness, an angel fed him twice and he went in its strength forty days to Horeb (1 Kings 19:1-8).
At Horeb God spoke to him in a still small voice and gave him new tasks, and told him 7,000 had not bowed to Baal (1 Kings 19:9-18).
(b) Any two: God provides for His servants; God protects those who serve Him; God answers prayer; God is supreme over nature and false gods; God encourages the discouraged.
