Model answer

(a)(i) Flushing: giving extra, high-quality feed to female animals a few weeks before mating.
(ii) Castration: removing or destroying the testes of male animals not wanted for breeding.
(iii) Culling: removing unproductive, sick, old or poor animals from the herd/flock.
(b)(i) Flushing: increases ovulation (twins/more offspring); improves conception rate; healthier offspring.
(ii) Castration: animals become docile and easy to handle; fatten faster with better meat; prevents unwanted mating.
(iii) Culling: improves overall productivity; reduces feed waste; removes diseased animals and limits spread.
(c)(i) Prismatic compass: measures bearings/angles; finds direction and positions of stations.
(ii) Measuring tape: measures distances/lengths; measures offsets and boundaries.
(d) Floriculture is the growing of flowers and ornamental plants; aquaculture is the rearing of fish and other aquatic organisms in water.

Explanation

Two advantages for each term.
