(i) FRSC: Federal Road Safety Corps (now Commission). Any five functions: making highways safe; preventing and reducing road crashes; enforcing traffic rules on highways; issuing driver's licences and vehicle number plates; educating motorists and the public on road safety; rescuing crash victims; removing obstructions from highways.
(ii) VID: Vehicle Inspection Department/Officers. Any five functions: testing vehicles for roadworthiness; issuing roadworthiness certificates; testing drivers before licences are issued; arresting drivers of unroadworthy vehicles; checking vehicle particulars; enforcing traffic laws within states.
