JAMB Mathematics 1993 Question 28

Question 28

Circle Theorems

In the diagram above, PQRS is circle with O as centre and PQ‖RT. If RTS = 32°, find PSQ

Diagram for this question
  1. A.32°
  2. B.45°
  3. C.58°
  4. D.90°
Show the answer and explanation

Answer: C (58°)

Explanation

PQ is parallel to RT, so angle PQS = angle RTS = 32° (alternate angles). SQ is a diameter, so angle SPQ = 90°. Then angle PSQ = 180° − 90° − 32° = 58°.
