Question 31

Mensuration of Solids

The ratio of the length of two similar rectangular blocks is 2:3. If the volume of the larger block is 351cm3, then the volume of the other block is

  1. A.234.00cm3
  2. B.526.50cm3
  3. C.166.00cm3
  4. D.729.75cm3
  5. E.104.00cm3.
Show the answer and explanation

Answer: E (104.00cm3.)

Explanation

Lengths 2:3 means volumes 2³ : 3³ = 8 : 27. So the smaller volume is 351 × 8/27 = 104cm³.
