Question 36

Parables of Jesus

From the parable of the friend at midnight we learn that

  1. A.we should always make our requests even at midnight
  2. B.we cannot receive anything from God if we don't ask
  3. C.an evil father will always give good gifts to his children
  4. D.the heavenly Father will always given the Holy Spirit to anybody.
Show the answer and explanation

Answer: B (we cannot receive anything from God if we don't ask)

Explanation

Jesus followed the parable with 'Ask, and it will be given you' (Luke 11:9–10): we must ask God persistently to receive. The Holy Spirit is given to those who ask, not to anybody.
