(a) Agricultural extension is the education of farmers outside school, carrying research findings and improved practices to them to raise their output and living standard
(b)(i) Mass media: radio, television, newspapers, posters, films reach many farmers quickly and cheaply, in local languages
(ii) Individual method: farm and home visits, office calls, telephone; the extension worker gives personal advice on a farmer's own problems
(iii) Group method: meetings, demonstrations (method and result), field days, farmers' clubs and cooperatives; many farmers learn together and see results
