Interpersonal Relationships(a) State the main features of Peter's counsel to wives and husbands in their relationship
(b) List any three consequences of instability in the family.
Show the model answer
(a) Wives should be submissive to their husbands, so that unbelieving husbands may be won by their behaviour without a word (1 Peter 3:1-2).
Their adorning should not be outward (braided hair, gold, fine clothing) but the hidden person of the heart, a gentle and quiet spirit, precious to God (1 Peter 3:3-4).
Like the holy women of old such as Sarah, who obeyed Abraham (1 Peter 3:5-6).
Husbands should live considerately with their wives (1 Peter 3:7).
They should honour the woman as the weaker sex (1 Peter 3:7).
Both are joint heirs of the grace of life (1 Peter 3:7).
Otherwise their prayers will be hindered (1 Peter 3:7).
(b) Any three: divorce and separation; neglect and delinquency of children; poverty; violence and abuse; immorality; emotional distress; poor performance of children at school; unanswered prayers.
Summarise 1 Peter 3:1-7, then three consequences.
